Dan Qiao is a concert violinist and educator with more than 18 years of teaching experience. She works with students of all ages and levels, from young beginners to advanced, collegiate, and adult musicians, combining strong technical foundations with individualized instruction, musicianship, and expressive development.
As an active performer, Dan has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician across the United States, Europe, and China, including performances at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York City. She is also the co-founder and violinist of DuoMente, a chamber music series known for its Beethoven violin sonata cycle, contemporary collaborations, and community outreach performances.
Dan has served multiple seasons as Assistant Faculty at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Violin Workshop. She previously maintained a private studio of more than 70 students annually, and her students have earned competition prizes, youth-orchestra placements, conservatory admissions, and scholarships and graduate assistantships at leading music schools in the United States and China. A nationally certified teacher, Dan holds the MTNA Nationally Certified Teacher of Music credential (NCTM).

She has completed Suzuki Violin Teacher Training through Book 7, including the Suzuki Practicum, as well as Royal Conservatory of Music Teacher Training in Elementary Violin. Her teaching integrates Suzuki, RCM, and traditional violin pedagogy and is tailored to each student’s age, learning style, musical background, and goals.Dan earned her Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She also holds master’s degrees from the University of Cincinnati and the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, where she graduated at the top of her class.
Her lessons are supportive, structured, and goal-oriented, helping students build healthy
technique, confidence, musical independence, and a lifelong connection to music.
