What services does DalMaestro provide?
DalMaestro offers customized private or group music lessons in studio or online. The lessons are open to students of all ages and abilities. DalMaestro also offers workshops and master classes for groups and individual students.
How do I enroll?
Simply register at www.dalmaestro.com and choose your preferred instrument and teacher. We’ll contact you and help with scheduling your lesson. Then you can log in using your email as username and the password received by email. Access the teacher’s calendar, verify the information, and pay for the class.
Is there a registration fee?
No, there is no registration fee for enrolling with DalMaestro.
When can I start lessons?
After you’ve schedule the lesson and paid, you simply start on the selected date.
Do you offer a Trial Lesson?
Yes, DalMaestro offers a 30-min trial lesson online. This will be a good opportunity to meet your teacher and discuss your background, expectations, and musical tastes. If you chose online classes, this will be good opportunity to set up your virtual studio with the help of the teacher.
Do I have the opportunity to try a different teacher if I feel the one I first met didn’t match my expectations?
We have a very high success rate with our teachers, but if you need to try another teacher we’ll be happy to offer the 30-min Trial Lesson rate until you find the teacher you wish to study with.
Does any teacher provide instruments?
DalMaestro doesn’t sell or rent musical instruments. But you can enquire with individual teachers who may choose to provide an instrument or offer suggestions about purchasing one.
Are your teachers independent contractors or employees?
All teachers working for DalMaestro are independent contractors and they are free to use their own teaching methods and custom lesson plans.
How do you select your teachers?
Our teachers are selected based on their education, teaching, and performance experience. Our selection process assures the highest quality music education for our students. All of our contracted teachers have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Music from top conservatories and music programs; some have a Master’s or PhD. Find out more about each of our teachers here.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes, we offer gift certificates. Contact us about your needs and we’ll help you find the best solution. A gift certificate can be emailed to you or its recipient and then forwarded to your friend/family member.
Does DalMaestro offer focused instruction for certificate exams?
Yes, we are affiliated with the Royal Conservatory Music Development Program. Upon request, the teacher will prepare the student for the certificate exams appropriate to her/his level.
How long are lessons?
Our most popular lesson length is 60 minutes. From our experience this is the ideal amount of time for weekly students to focus on new and reviewed material.
We also offer 90-minute lessons for students who want some extra time to really dig in. 90-minute lessons are popular with our mid-level and advanced students.
We also offer short 30-min lessons for online classes. Since online learning eliminates the time otherwise spent on travel and set up. 30-minute classes aren’t as short as they would be in an in-studio class of the same length!
Do you offer both one-on-one and group lessons?
We mostly offer one-on-one lessons but are open to any request for group lessons.
Does DalMaestro offer focused instruction for college admission?
Yes, our teachers are qualified to prepare the student for college admissions.
Where do lessons take place?
You can choose between in-person and online lessons, or switch between them depending on your needs. In-person lessons are taught in studios located in neighborhoods, easily accessible by public transportation. Visit our Location page for details. As we try to cover a large area, not all the teachers are available for all the locations. Each of our teacher pages explains where she/he is available.
How often are lessons held?
Our students typically attend one lesson a week—ideal time for student growth and improvement. We are open, however, to different schedules. Let us know how often you want lessons and we’ll help you work out a schedule that fits your needs while allowing the teacher to attend to them.
What do I need beside the computer for online classes?
To assure the best quality video, we highly recommend that you use headphones with either an integrated or external microphone.
Can the teacher annotate the score during class?
Yes, the teacher can annotate the score during class, as in the traditional in-person class.
How long are lessons?
We offer 30-minute, 60-minute, and 90-minute lessons. The 60-minute lesson is our most popular.
May I record the class?
Yes, we’ll record the class and share the recording with you through our cloud. After the first class you’ll receive a link to your recordings folder, from where you’ll also be able to review also all the future classes. You can also download the video.
How can I share the score with the teacher online?
You can send the score to the teacher by email or share it online during class.
How can I access my teacher’s virtual studio for the online class?
After you schedule your class and pay, you’ll receive instructions on how to access your teacher’s virtual studio. The process is easy: the videoconferencing tool is downloaded with a single click and connection established after following some simple instructions. What is your cancellation policy?
If you can’t make a lesson you must cancel from your account or directly contact your teacher at least 24 hours in advance in order to be credited a make-up class. If you give the notice later than 24 hours you’ll forfeit your payment for the class. How do I pay for lessons?
All payments are handled securely through a third-party certified website accessed through your account. We offer the choice of package payments and single, pay-as-you-go lessons. How much do lessons cost?
DalMaestro’s rates are very reasonable and competitive for the quality of the services offered. For more detailed information, visit our Rates page.
Can I stop taking lessons at any time?
Yes, you can stop taking lessons at any time with the pay-as-you-go option. But if you selected a package payment, you must give us at least one week advance notice. There are no semester contracts with Dal Maestro.
If I get a 4-lesson package, does it expire in four weeks?
Yes, if you get a 4-lesson package you must use the credit in four weeks.
Why do I have to accept cookies to access my DalMaestro account?
When you use our Site we store cookies on your computer in order to facilitate and customize your use of our Site. A cookie is a small data text file, that a website stores on your computer’s hard drive (if your browser permits it) so that it can later be retrieved to identify you to us.
