Since 2017, DalMaestro students have been invited to perform in some of New York City’s most prestigious concert halls—including Carnegie Hall—as part of the annual Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Celebration of Awards Recital. This distinguished event features top-performing students across all instruments who have earned the highest examination marks in their level and category.
In 2025, we are proud to celebrate DalMaestro classical guitar student Theo C., who delivered an outstanding performance at the RCM Celebration of Awards Recital, held on Saturday, January 24 at Merkin Hall, Kaufmann Center in New York City.
Theo, a student of Isabella Abbonizio, founder and director of DalMaestro Music School, was awarded both the Northeast Regional Gold Medal and the New York State Award for Guitar Preparatory Level by the Royal Conservatory of Music. These prestigious honors recognize exceptional achievement in classical music performance and reflect Theo’s dedication, technical growth, and musical maturity.
At the awards recital, Theo performed Ecossais by Mauro Giuliani, representing classical guitar alongside fellow award-winning RCM students performing on piano, violin, voice, trumpet, and saxophone. His performance was warmly received and highlighted the strength and artistry of classical guitar within the RCM program.
Two other DalMaestro students, Aditi C. and Dael H. also won the State Award for, respectively, guitar Lev 3 and 4.
