The guitar had been for a long time a male-dominated field, but the time has changed and women have conquered a significant place among guitar players.
This year we are witnessing more and more events of women musicians celebrating International Women’s Day through live performances, and some of them also include music written by women composers (does the category sound new?).
Save the date for March 8th, 7:30pm @McDowell Room at Brooklyn Music School (126 St. Felix Street, Brooklyn, NY). A group of six young ladies (including me!) will perform in solo and ensemble a repertoire that includes female composers from 20th and 21st Century. Four of us (me too!) are joining for the first time in a quartet that will perform a wonderful piece by the talented living composer Olga Amelkina-Vera. And the ensemble got the name from the space were they used to get together for rehearsals: DalMaestro!
Not to be missed.
Doors open: 7pm
Show starts: 7:30pm
Small reception will follow
Tickets t the door: 10$
I hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
Isabella
