We are delighted to welcome A Bu to the DalMaestro faculty as our newest piano instructor. An award-winning pianist and composer based in New York City, A Bu brings an extraordinary combination of artistic excellence, international experience, and stylistic versatility to our community.

A Bu is the First Prize winner of the Montreux Jazz Solo Piano Competition and has performed on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow and Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in New York. His career spans both classical and jazz traditions, allowing him to offer students a uniquely rich and comprehensive musical perspective.

Throughout his career, A Bu has collaborated with internationally renowned artists such as Herbie Hancock, Marcus Miller, Hélène Mercier, and Al Jarreau, among many others. Among his career highlights, at age 13 he was invited by legendary jazz pianist Chick Corea to perform a duet. As a soloist, he has performed with leading orchestras including the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, and the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra, working with distinguished conductors across Europe and beyond.

In addition to his work as a performer, A Bu is an accomplished composer signed with Schott Music, one of the world’s foremost music publishers. His compositions—ranging from solo piano to orchestral works—have been featured by organizations such as UNESCO, the United Nations Chamber Music Society, Trinity Church Wall Street, WQXR, and SiriusXM.

A graduate of The Juilliard School and the Mannes School of Music, A Bu studied with leading musicians including Hung-Kuan Chen, Pavlina Dokovska, and composer Lowell Liebermann. His educational background, combined with his international performing career, makes him an exceptional mentor for students at all levels.
