Anna is an award-winning classical guitarist and educator from Brazil. She is a Suzuki-certified instructor and has successfully taught hundreds of students in Brazil, Europe, and the USA.
Anna is recognized as one of the most accomplished guitarists of her generation. She began studying guitar at the age of seven, focusing on Brazilian music before dedicating her training to classical guitar.
She has performed as a soloist across Brazil, the United States, and Finland, appearing in concerts on television and radio. Her repertoire emphasizes Latin American and Spanish classical music, and she brings deep stylistic knowledge to her teaching and performance.
She has won over a dozen international guitar competitions, including First Prizes at the Charlottesville Classical Guitar Festival and Competition (USA), the XII Seleção de Novos Talentos da Associação de Violão do Rio (Brazil), and the Prêmio Revelação at the I Concurso Movimento Violão (Brazil).
Throughout her studies, Anna participated in masterclasses with world-renowned guitarists including Marcin Dylla, Tilman Hoppstock, Odair Assad, Matteo Mela, and Lorenzo Micheli. She also performed at the Festival de Inverno de Campos do Jordão—South America’s largest classical music festival—studying under Denis Azabagic.
Anna holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO), a Master’s degree from James Madison University (USA), and a second Master’s from the prestigious Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) at Stony Brook University, where she studies under João Luiz Rezende.
Anna is an Augustine Strings Artist and performs on a Sergio Abreu guitar (2021). She offers classical, acoustic, and electric guitar lessons in Brooklyn (Williamsburg) and online, teaching in English and Portuguese. Her instruction includes music theory, chamber music, and preparation for performances and competitions.
