Dear All,
we hope you are doing well and staying safe and healthy during these challenging times. We are very proud of all of our students, that have been making the most of the lockdown time, with practicing and performing.
We wanted to share two beautiful projects by two among our most talented students, Isabella Ciriello (enrolled in The Royal Conservatory of Music RCM Level 6) and Hatim Wadani (RCM Associate Diploma) that recently entered in two Virtual Competitions. Virtual Competitions are important answers to the Covid-19 unprecedented time, however in the past one-two years the use of technology have been introduced to music competitions, either by requiring to submit a video instead of traveling to the event site for the first round selections, or for live streaming the event.
Hatim Wadani took part of the Ex-AequoVirtual Guitar Competition, probably the first global virtual competition with no age limits inaugurated few weeks before the lockdown. He submitted a video with his performance of Leo Brouwer Ballada de la Doncella Enamorada from El Decameron Negro. We hope you enjoy watching the video!
Isabella Ciriello took part of the Kithara Project Virtual Competition open to school-aged kids, from elementary to high school, the first edition of an initiative of this kind. She submitted a video (click on the image above) and received very positive feedbacks from the three jury members. Isabella performed two pieces from her RCM Lev 6 repertoire: C. Camisassa La Ligamos (Milonga) and J. S. Bach Bourrée from Partita BWV 996.
Among the upcoming Virtual Competitions there’s the 1st NY Guitar Seminars at Mannes Competition open to all. Video submissions deadline is July 13, 2020. You can find more informations here.
Many more other opportunities are coming out for Virtual Competitions and we’ll certainly share them with you!
