Italian-naturalized American guitarist and musicologist Isabella Abbonizio holds a PhD in musicology from the University of Rome, an MA with honors from the University of Bologna, and a Guitar Diploma from the Conservatory of Bologna. As a Research Affiliate with New York University and a member of The Royal Conservatory College of Examiners, Isabella brings a wealth of academic and practical knowledge to her teaching.

Isabella performs internationally as a soloist and in chamber ensembles. Moreover, her students have achieved remarkable success, including winning RCM Gold Medals and Awards of Excellence. Each year, some are chosen to perform at Carnegie Hall during the Celebration of Excellence Award Recital. Because of Isabella’s dedication to her students’ progress, they consistently reach their full potential, whether preparing for college admissions, RCM certification, or public performances.

In addition to individual lessons, Isabella offers chamber music ensemble coaching, performance coaching, and guitar teacher training. Furthermore, students can choose from a range of lesson durations (30, 45, 60, or 90 minutes) to fit their schedules. Lessons are available in English and Italian, with a focus on classical, Latin-American, and pop styles.
