Summer is a great time to practice. And what is better than matching vacation, cultural experience and guitar practicing? We should say a culture immersion into the places of most of the music we play!
This year, from July 25th to 30th, join the Lanciano International Guitar Seminar, in the hearth of Central Italy. The Seminar features master classes by international faculty, workshops, ensemble rehearsals, and performance opportunities.
The event’s location, Parco delle Arti Musicali, is a middle age cloister, at the side of the suggestive old defensive towers of the city, ‘Torri Montanare’.
The Seminar program also include an outreach project to the town of Salle, the home of Italian string makers (‘Cordari’) since the XV century. Some of them, including renowned brand D’Addario and LaBella, moved to New York City in the early 20th century. Gut strings are still produced in town. A visit to the local unique newly founded museum of musical instrument strings (Museo delle Corde Armoniche) and a concert at the medieval castle of Salle will conclude the event.
